Famous local historian Hüseyin Çimrin;
Until the 1960s, Antalya city ended a little further from the Şarampol district; just north of the formerly known ‘Social Security (SSK) Hospital’, at a place called “Beyazbina” by the people of Antalya. This is the point where Güllük and Şarampol Streets meet on their way to Çallı today.

Kepez is one of the central districts located in the north of Antalya. Its southern border begins with Gazi Boulevard and Çakırlar road, known as the "Cevre Yolu" among the public. According to 202 population data, 673,277 people live in Kepez. It has 68 different small neighborhoods.
Once upon a time, city buses and minibuses would come all the way here and then return. The rest of the road was an area covered with dense scrub and rocks here and there. In the past, in the area that included the large intersection where the Police Department and the Atatürk Monument are located today, just beyond Beyazbina, these numerous natural rocks, some of which were taller than a human being and looked as if they had been erected by human hands, would attract the attention of everyone who passed by. Because of these stones, this plain was called ‘Dikili Taşlar’ (Stick Stones).
This district, which was called “Dokuma” since the mid-1970s, had no houses until the mid-1970s. Everything was covered with stony ground and shrubbery. Both sides of the road that continued to Kepez were filled with scrub and wild strawberry trees between the rocks.
