Antalya is one of Turkey's most popular tourism centers, as well as an important city that invests in smart city applications. By addressing this potential of Antalya, we wanted to both introduce our city and bring the concept of smart city to a wider audience.
What is Smart City?
Making city services more efficient, sustainable and livable through the use of information and communication technologies. It refers to a city model optimized with technologies such as sensors, data analysis and artificial intelligence in areas such as transportation, energy and waste management.

Antalya Corendon Airlines Park is the Turkey's first Solar-Powered stadium.
It provides central monitoring and management of free Wi-Fi, city information screens and kiosks, image monitoring from traffic cameras, chronic patient monitoring, panic button, smart lighting and smart irrigation systems.

Antalya also uses technology to achieve sustainable tourism goals. For example, energy consumption is reduced, waste management systems are improved and environmental impacts are minimized thanks to smart energy management systems.

Many public buildings and residences in Antalya are equipped with smart building technology. These buildings save energy and water and offer a more comfortable living environment.
Smart City/Region Status: Municipality leverages tech, citizen engagement, and data-driven governance to enhance public services, transportation, energy efficiency, and safety. Signed the Covenant of Mayors, developing a Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan and is a lighthouse city in EU-funded MAtchUP SmartCityProject.

The Horizon 2020 MAtchUP project, which supports the increase of smart cities in Antalya and Turkey with smart energy, smart transportation, smart infrastructure and information communication technologies initiatives, is the first application of Antalya's Ecological Smart City vision, which hosts Turkey's largest Smart Urban Transformation project.
The MAtchUP Project is an exemplary project with different smart city applications, including infrastructure, energy, water, lighting, environment, security, health, smart home and integrated technology solutions.
